That was cute! She was like, "They didn't know that I asked to be sat there. I acted like it was just a BIG surprise!" |

I remember the classic days of the PCA's. They were considered the official big kickoff to the awards season. They were an event but ever since they made it so fanbases could wreak havoc, it's fallen apart. It's gotten worse and worse. Last year was atrocious with the strike but that was a given. I like Queen Latifah but boy did she annoy me tonight. The whole "Yes We Can" thing got old fast and so did all the special features. Glad for Two and a Half Men and House and Laurie. The rest, eh. Good for Fey and Will Smith. Loved Carrie Underwood. She looked great and sounded great. Glad she took home an award. I usually like Rascal Flatta but not tonight. Wow... The best part for me The Dark Knight. I hope like hell it gets Oscar nods. Bale's brief tribute hit me hard and the montage was awesome. Happy they won everything they were up for, especially Bale and Ledger winning together. Glad they saved it for last too. Made up for a lousy night. The rest sucked. Boring and just felt like that awards show that is on Nickelodeon or something. The whole thing with the winners knowing beforehand has always been the case because they want them there and at least this year some big names were there. Very meh though. I still remember when the GG and PCA''s had relevance in terms of quality. Actually, most awards shows don't award quality. It's politics and popularity at the time, plain and simple IMO. I was glad they roped in ATWT in some form even if it was awful and glad GL got a promo. Edited by PhoenixRising05, Jan 8 2009, 12:43 AM.

That was fun! These used to be such a big deal and even soaps were recognized. I remember they took the Soap award way one year in between but Days still won the TV Guide award for Favorite Soap that year to make up for it. They brought it back to the PCA's the next year and they won it there again LOL. They always brought it home there. Fan awards were always good for Days because fans came out and voted. Same goes for GH. Fanbases always had a role in these kind of awards shows but now it's so teen and youth driven that there is such a lack of quality. It's just maddening. |

IMO awards shows are a waste because they are always riddled with the wrong people winning |

So am I like the only person alive who thinks The Dark Knight is the most overrated movie ever? Would it really have been so successful had Heath not died and had the studio not exploited his death? |

The movie itself is terribly overrated, yes. The best part about it was Heath's performance. |

Probably still would've made at least $400 million. I think it's quality regardless. It was unique and best film experience I've had in years. It made you think and brought themes to a film like this that had never been brought to a film like this before. It forever changes it's genre and could do so even more with an Oscar nod. They did exploit his death but I think it would've still made a similar impact. Maybe not over $500 million and maybe not as many awards as it's getting but it would've had a massive impact for sure. In regards to the exploitation, I've seen worse. I actually think they tried to keep it tasteful and just went ahead with things, just as Heath would've wanted. |

When will they get it? We DON'T CARE about the physical town (although it's supposed to be a city, but I digress) of Springfield. We care about the stories and the characters. All the outside shoots in the world won't replace good writing. |
